Delivering convenient, on-the-go necessities
In 2017, automated retail vending machines were piloted at select landmark locations across the Northeast, including Boston’s South Station and New York City’s LaGuardia Airport. This was an effort to continue to innovate and to meet customers where they are with unparalleled access to on-the-go solutions. We were tasked with developing the exterior graphics for the machines.

Concepts
For the exterior design, we explored incorporating multiple brand elements from our visual identity.
Backsplash
An add-on backsplash was also explored, for instances where more space was available. The intent of incorporating a backsplash was to amplify the vending machine’s presence and serve as a vehicle for contextualized graphics and messaging.
Final design
A custom icon pattern was developed that communicated the product assortment one could expect to find, while also conveying our brand personality and aesthetic.
