Brandon Gant is a graphic designer from Warren, Rhode Island graduating from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2015. He mostly works with print rather than web, but still has experience and interest in working with some web based elements. Drawing is an interest and skill of his that he continues to develop. His long list of inspirations mostly goes back to his childhood. They include cartoons, comics, films, music, album covers, graffiti and, most of all, sports. Design and sports are two things that Brandon is very passionate about which can be seen in a lot of his work. He has always been drawn to bright and bold design. Brandon’s work has been displayed in several exhibits ranging from the Bristol Community College Student Show to The Buttonwood Park Zoo Exhibition.
When beginning a project he likes to listen to loud music in total seclusion and let his hand run free by sketching out ideas no matter how ludicrous they may be. He likes to get all his ideas from his mind to a piece of paper and then work through them. Some aspects of his work that distinguish itself from others are his use of sans serif typfaces with a lot of bold type and use of bright vector graphics. He applies these aspects drawing inspiration from well known sports brands such as Nike, Reebok and Adidas. These are a few of the companies that he hopes to work for one day in the future.
